I have been invited to a Cuban themed party and my husband picked out this recipe from this Taste of Cuba site. It takes kidney beans and sweet potatoes, raisins, sugar, milk and cloves. It also said that you would serve it with vanilla wafers. I am wanting to know what this is supposed to look like when it is done. It also said to cool it, but I don't know if it is served cold or what. And just what do you do with it. I know I sound dumb, but I am just trying to learn. Sweet potatoes will get mushy I know, but beans take a long time to get soft. Are they supposed to mush up also. Any help will be greatly appreciated on just what this dish is supposed to look like.
Thanks! ! |

Sorry I'm so late replying to you. I'm sure the event has come and gone
I have never made frijoles con dulce so am at a disadvantage here, but they are served cold, that much I know. Please let us know what you did. -------------------- Sonia
